QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to read and interpret documents and construction drawings.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team, with other community and related organizations to achieve The Link’s goals and objectives.
- Writing and numeracy skills in order to satisfactorily record and maintain accurate data, correspond in writing via email or text; complete timesheets, incident reports, forms and other documents accurately as required; and calculate and complete expense claims as needed.
- Possess the capacity (ability) to be aware of and control one’s own emotions, maintain professional boundaries, and to handle interpersonal relationships respectfully, empathetically and professionally. Ability to participate in stand-by duty and report back to work if called.
Working /environmental conditions
- Work subjects the employee to inside and outside environmental conditions, extremes in temperatures, and hazards associated with equipment operation including fumes, oils, gases, dust and mists.
- Potential for exposure to unfavourable conditions such as small spaces, smells and rodents.
- Challenging situations with medium to high-risk individuals in some work environments.
- Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C, or willingness to obtain.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, a clear Child Abuse Registry check with acceptable Prior Contact checks, and a clear Adult Abuse Registry check, all done within the last 3 months.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driver’s abstract (subject to approval).
- Access to a personal vehicle for work is required.
Physical, visual and auditory requirements.
- Ability to perform medium work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 40 pounds of force frequently and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Ladder use, scaffolding and carrying items up and down stairs.
- Ergonomic requirements may include: pushing, pulling, crawling, lifting, and carrying heavy objects, crouching, bending, standing, stooping, reaching, grasping, kneeling, climbing, balancing, walking, running, reaching above shoulder, and twisting the body.
- Repetitive motions.
- Standing for continuous periods of time.
- Use of fingers to grasp, move, feel, or assemble small objects.
- Distinguish visual differences between colors, shades, depth perception and brightness.
- Speaking clearly in conversation or with instructions to a co-worker, supervisor, or customer.
