Qualifications/Requirements
Qualifications:
• Grade 12, related experience in working with individuals living unsheltered
• Demonstrates interpersonal skills in developing effective working relationships with folks living
unsheltered and the service community.
• Understands the issues facing individuals at risk and the impact of trauma.
• Knowledge of the importance of attachment individuals to their community and maintaining their
connections to family and community.
• Supports Indigenous values; has knowledge of Indigenous cultures and community issues.
• Demonstrates skill in problem-solving, particularly during high stress situations.
• Possesses a strong working knowledge of community resources.
• Communicates effectively in oral and written form, including strong skills in documentation; the ability to
organize a busy schedule, follow through on all tasks as assigned and meet deadlines.
• Projects an overall positive / respectful approach with all people.
• Ensures ability to be flexible to work some evenings and weekends; and
• Possesses a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and contribute as a team member.
• Experience in working with community-based agencies from a community development perspective.
• Current First Aid/ CPR and NVCI certificates.
• Must be vaccinated against COVID-19.
• Must provide current (within the last three months) criminal record with Vulnerable Sector Query, Child
Abuse Registry check and be subject to Prior Contact Check.
