About YES Manitoba
For more than 50 years, YES Manitoba has helped young people across Manitoba take their next step toward employment, education, and career success.
As a registered charity, we provide free employment and career services for youth ages 16 to 29, offering personalized support, practical resources, skills development opportunities, and connections to employers, training, and community services.
We believe every young person has strengths, potential, and a unique path forward. Through individualized guidance and ongoing support, we help youth navigate challenges, explore opportunities, and build meaningful futures.
Together with our funders, partners, employers, and community supporters, we are helping create opportunities for youth and contributing to a stronger Manitoba.
What We Ask of Participants
Success is built through partnership. As a participant in the YES Manitoba program, we ask that you:
- Attend scheduled appointments or notify us if you need to reschedule.
- Actively participate in developing and working toward your goals.
- Stay in contact with your Employment Facilitator.
- Inform us of changes to your contact information, including your phone number, email address, or mailing address.
- Let us know about changes to your employment, education, or training status.
- Inform us if you begin accessing services through another agency, organization, or support program.
- Provide updates on your progress so we can continue to offer relevant supports and accurately measure program outcomes.
Regular communication helps us ensure that your service plan remains relevant, responsive, and aligned with your goals.
Ongoing Support
As you progress through the program, your Employment Facilitator will continue to check in, celebrate achievements, help address new challenges, and adjust your service plan as needed. Whether you are searching for employment, returning to school, completing training, or exploring your next steps, we are committed to supporting your success.
Even after you achieve your goals, we may follow up periodically to learn about your progress and determine whether additional support or resources may be helpful.
At YES Manitoba, we believe every young person has strengths, potential, and a unique path forward. Our role is to help you navigate that path, access opportunities, and build a foundation for long-term success.
Service Notice
YES Manitoba provides employment and career development support designed to help youth build the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to successfully navigate today’s labour market.
Our services focus on helping participants develop effective job search strategies, create professional resumes and cover letters, prepare for interviews, explore education and training opportunities, and strengthen the skills needed to obtain and maintain employment. Through individualized guidance and ongoing support, we help youth become more self-sufficient and capable of managing their future career paths.
While YES Manitoba works closely with employers, training providers, and community partners, we are not a job placement agency, staffing agency, or temporary employment service. Participation in our programs does not guarantee employment, training placement, or admission to educational programs.
Our role is to equip participants with the tools, resources, and support needed to pursue opportunities independently and make informed decisions about their employment, education, and career goals.
Over the past five decades, YES Manitoba has evolved alongside the changing needs of Manitoba’s youth and labour market. While our programs and services have grown, our purpose has remained the same: helping young people discover opportunities, overcome barriers, and build meaningful pathways toward employment and independence.
Today, YES Manitoba provides free employment and career development services to youth ages 16 to 29 across Manitoba. Through individualized employment support, career planning, job search assistance, training connections, and community partnerships, we help young people prepare for the world of work and achieve their goals.
As a registered charity, YES Manitoba is grateful for the ongoing support of the Province of Manitoba, funding partners, donors, employers, and community organizations. Their investment enables us to continue creating opportunities for young Manitobans and strengthening the workforce and communities of our province.
For more than 50 years, YES Manitoba has remained dedicated to empowering youth, fostering opportunity, and helping build a stronger Manitoba—one young person at a time.
Our History
Youth Employment Services (Y.E.S. Manitoba Inc.) was founded in 1973 through a partnership between the YMCA of Winnipeg and the Rotary Club of Winnipeg. Recognizing the need for dedicated employment supports for young people, these organizations shared a vision of helping youth successfully navigate the transition to the workforce through motivational training, employment referrals, and counselling services.
On August 9, 1974, Youth Employment Services was officially incorporated as a nonprofit charitable organization. Since then, YES Manitoba has remained committed to supporting young people as they pursue education, employment, and career opportunities.
