Referrals for those receiving EIA Benefits
If you are an EIA Case Coordinator, Labour Market Service Advisor, or work with Workforce Training and Employment in another capacity and would like your clients to attend YES Manitoba employment readiness programming, please complete the referral form below.
Employment readiness programming through YES Manitoba includes regular communication with your client’s assigned Employment Facilitator, with tracked expectations and exception reporting provided weekly.
An Employment Facilitator will contact your client directly via the information provided to confirm an initial orientation appointment with your client.
Your client will then be added to YES Manitoba’s weekly reporting list. Once orientation has been completed and programming has begun, you will receive a confirmation email.
Please contact Employment Facilitator, George Abdou, at 204-987-8661 ext. 663 or gabdou@yesmb.ca for more details on current programming.
About the Program
Each EIA referral client will start with a pre-booked, orientation session at YES Manitoba, where they will receive progress tracking sheets to complete while job searching independently or at our offices.
For the remainder of week one, clients will attend daily, scheduled employability workshops, that focus on a variety of hard and soft skills clients need to be successful in finding and maintaining employment. Workshops cover topics such as resume and cover letter writing, navigating online application systems, job searching techniques, preparing for interviews, and accountability, conflict resolution, and communication skills that are needed to succeed in the workplace. Clients are also expected to attend a weekly presentation given by a community agency, to increase their awareness of various resources across the city.
In week two, clients are required to attend three (3) in-person appointments with their assigned Employment Facilitator. During the first appointment, clients will work with the Employment Facilitator to build and/or edit their resume and develop cover letters; based on their current skills set and experience, as well as their long term-career goals.
During the second appointment, clients will receive one-on-one support with job searching and interview preparation. For the third appointment, clients will meet with staff to discuss other factors or barriers they may be facing to finding and maintaining a job. Their assigned Employment Facilitator will then use this information to identify additional resources that are needed by the client, to increase and maintain their motivation to enter the workforce. The information will further be used to tailor future appointments to the client’s individual needs to help them feel more work ready.
From week three onwards, clients are required to complete at least one (1) job search tracking sheet per week, and forward images or a copy of the completed sheet to their designated Employment Facilitator by Sunday evenings for next day reporting. Clients are expected to apply for 15 to 20 jobs per week, and their Employment Facilitator is readily available to assist with specific applications and interview prep.

As a referring agent, you will be notified of your clients’ compliance with the orientation, as well as receive weekly reporting regarding their program expectations.
