What do we do?
- We provide free employment services to young Manitobans.
- We utilize a “coach approach” to help youth draw out their own ideas,
guide them to develop action plans and build an accountability structure to ensure they meet their employment goals. - We provide a safe and supportive environment where youth can learn new skills, develop confidence in themselves and feel supported during their transition to employment.
- We develop relevant and responsive programming to meet the needs of
Manitoba’s youth in the current job market.
We also provide advocacy services for youth who may need assistance in finding services, connecting with resources, and having difficulty navigating systems and advocating for themselves.

Under 16?
Youth under 16 are not eligible for service from YES Manitoba. Youth over the age of 12 can be employed, but there are restrictions on what kind of jobs they can hold and what hours they can work. They must also take a course to be eligible for employment. You can learn more about the rules for employment of youth under 16 at the link below. Youth under 16 can do many different types of volunteer work, so they might also want to visit the Volunteer Manitoba website.
